The road racing bike was inherited as a rusty heap and had to be re-built, the mountain bike started out as a specialized hardrock that got it’s forks swapped, then it’s wheels, then it’s bars, then it’s frame and made singlespeed, then it’s brakes, then gears re-fitted (new parts)
10 years on from buying the hardrock, I think there is only the saddle from the Hardrock!
My partner’s bike was built from what was in the back cupboard of the back room of three different bike shops
