I wish that Shimano would get the S*** together and produce a platform/clipless combo (Shimano A530 SPD Pedals) that my foot won’t slip off in street shoes when it gets wet. Dry, I love them, and most of the time even wet, things go well, but then there’s those crucial times when I’m taking off from a dead stop, and trying to get to speed (usually with a car on my A**), then my balls suddenly ache.
I recall sprinting up a cobbled street on my 60’s road racer and my Shimano SPD let go of the cleat, foot came up, forwards, onto street, crotch onto cross-bar and I fell into a bush.
Now, as to the storyline above… I remember the time I was using toe straps on my pedals, when the pedal’s axle broke on the downstroke. I ended up with a nasty tear through my pants, and a hole in my leg where it was impaled on the broken axle.
I have a scar on my calf from when my bike bowed (front tire met the back end), and I ended up with a gear stuck in my leg. Nice person stopped and help me remove it, after he was done freaking out that I was alive. Never had a pedal bite my leg though, hands yes (folding pedals), but not my leg.
Wellgo produces pedals with one side extremly unslippery platform (even on a ‘bent my shoes don’t slip in wet conditions) and the other side compatible to the Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (socialdemocratic paty of Germany, short :SPD)
Loved the recap of your week and esplciaely and use of humor (well done humor I might add) that really made it fun to read! Great Job! I can't wait to read more~

We’ve all got them. I have 2 lines on my Achilles tendon from my first ride with clipless pedals. I had just got to the end of my Aunt and Uncle’s very steep driveway (in runs down hill, on to a rather busy street), and I didn’t quite get my right foot out fast enough. Down I went, and the big chain-ring of my brand new Cannondale made two rather nice cuts, just above my cycling shoes. I bleed like a stuck pig. I was so pissed that I literally grabbed my water bottle, hosed off the cuts, said a few words that you wouldn’t want to use in church on Sunday, and took off for a 20 mile ride. I was a lot better when I got back.
Where do I find the instructions to upgrade from 5.05 to 5.07? Also, what exactly changed? Do I need to replace everything, or just a few files. I need to make sure that my changes stay in place. Thanks,John[]
Oh, that look on her face in the last panel. Wonder what could happen here?
I put my symptoms into WebMD and it said I need to get another bike.
