While I thought that the first time I came up with it, I was told that it would likely have a negative backlash. Upon further reflection, I’d have to agree with that person.
Since then I’ve come up with “ODOT KNOWS!!!” and “ODOT KNEW!!!”. Funny how that one actually worked.
Bike lives matter is good, in that anyone who rides a bike on the road will eventually encounter violence. Belittling black lives matter is not. Even as a white person, I don’t want to live in a place where unarmed black people are shot on a regular basis.
I expect Yehudah to have a better analysis. I’ve always looked up to him and in all the years I’ve been reading assumed that his radicalism and fanaticism wasn’t solely limited to bikes.
Co-op ting that fraze is very different from occupy Wall Street. Specifically it is used to take away from the fact that we live in a country that routinely says that the lives of people of color don’t matter.
I understand that bicyclists aren’t respected by drivers and as someone who primarily bikes have experienced how scary can be.
But the two are completely different and comparing them in this way is really problematic.
Bike lives do matter, and that doesnt take away from any other movement. Good job. I’ll add another movement “Coffee Matters.” Wow, feels good to say what you want without caring whether you offend some white do-gooder that is more hyper sensitive than the blacks I’m friends with. Get over yourselves.
Seen on a pizzeria’s T-shirt ….. BLACK OLIVES MATTER.
-“BB”-
Damn good slogan I’d say.

I agree. Well said.

These comics are meant to provoke thought and discussion. Don’t change what you do or how you do it. Good job.
In the spirit of the comic…I loved it! BTW “Black Lives Matter”
