Really?? We live in a perpetual 24/7 world wide surveillance police state. These two aren’t the usual people living off the grid and with no fixed identity. Odds are good their physical assets will be seized, the digital banking has already been frozen, they’re probably running on whatever they cashed out (and given ATM and bank withdrawal limits is well under $1k tops). They have no money, their passports are flagged, their assets frozen or seized, they aren’t going anywhere. So the moment either of them so much as touches their credit cards, rents a motel, buys a ticket to anywhere, they’ll pop up with big old ‘arrest me please’ flags.
Remember what I said about bonding out of jail and just going ‘out of touch’ until the court date.
So far the only “proof”, if you want to call it that, that they’ve jumped bail and blown town is what Joe read on his smartphone — the Plain Dealer’s mobile site, a Twitter feed, or something else on social media … although since Brother Pilot is also aware of this I suspect something like the newspaper site (Brother Pilot would have seen it in print in the regular newspaper a day or so later) — and showed Yehuda. But just because a newspaper can’t follow up with someone, or that particular someone is not returning a the news media’s calls or emails doesn’t automatically mean that they are hightailing it for someplace without an extradition treaty with the US.
Maybe I’ve got a little too Pollyanna in me, but until I have something a little more concrete to go on — like a failure to appear in court — I will continue to give Councilman Turner the benefit of the doubt.
Where the heck do you guys live where the police so doggedly pursue justice for just a killed cyclist? That’s a slap-on-the-wrist traffic fine in most of the country. If this was playing out where I live, the cops might’ve tried calling the car owner, and if nobody answered, would close the case saying “we did all we could.”
Maybe Yehuda is like me – I tend to wear a Red “Haynes” Tee all the time unless I am dressing more formally for social reasons, I have a stack of them and I wear a clean one every day – mostly.
(However I wore my gold Silk shirt last night when a friend took me out to celebrate my 66th birthday 🙂 )
I did not imply that he is wearing the same shirt every day, I was wondering about when was the last time he changed the color of his shirt. I cannot remember seeing him in any other color but blue and green. There must be something bing coming.
22/01/2008 to 19/08/2016 all read – I feel like I have just caught up with a fantasy author who had already written six books in the series and you now have to wait like everyone else for book seven!
Currently saving up for my return to cycling – and while the bike shop guys are convinced all cyclists turn in Joe I relate a lot more to Yehuda (although I do live in a house!)
I have a mate who offered to lend me his bike – my darling wife vetoed it. She is 100% I will be having accidents on my bike and while she is ‘happy’ for me to repeatedly crash my own she would be way too stressed out if I was on someone else’s bike.
I figure I will be more likely to use it if it costs me something anyway and using the prospect of the purchase as a spur to current weight loss and the buying as a non-food reward …

While that is true, there are some liberties to be taken for the sake of the storyline, like in most films 😀
Knowing this day would come, they could have prepped by moving assets offshore etc.

I cannot remember when was the last time Yehuda changed the color of his shirt.
Even Yehuda can only go so long before a wash.
I like to think it’s how this comic measures the passage of time.

(‘Cause, yeah – they actually did that for a hit-n-run several years back.)

His blue shirt is at the tailor’s, having the pocket moved to the right side.
(Right as in correct, or left. Oops. Joke fail.)
I wonder if the Brother Pilot and his Krew have the Turners chained up in a barn or well.

Enjoyed the journey – thanks guys!
Welcome back, Warren. Anyone got a bike he can borrow?

(sorry forgot to his reply the first time)
