There are times I’d go out for a long ride — up to a metric century or longer, depending on how I was feeling — on my own. Why not these two, especially since they are trying to wrap their heads around some pretty significant issues?
I find a ride is the best thing to do to when I need to think through something. I can tamp down the emotions and get to the rational.
hswoolve has a point if Ruckus knew what he had. Otherwise why wait two years to dump it. Also the junk yard may have some record of when is was received.
Just another thought if a vehicle is worth more keeping or for parts the junkyard may not crush it for years. I know I have gone to a junkyard for a body part or two on a old car I have.
The digital trail will indicate when the vehicle went “out of service.” Most likely they will have reported it stolen to explain why they know longer had it. It would be suspicious if a valuable vehicle disappeared and they didn’t make a claim.
Maybe Rick has a twist in the works; it will have been stolen before Fred was hit and the Turners will be absolved and then there will be an investigation into who stole it – maybe there’s fingerprints on the steering wheel …
If, however, the claim is after Fred died … but then, we don’t know that the blond lady is Mrs. Turner … so … this is getting too complicated … I’m done. 😉
It seems reasonable to me that ‘HE’ would do whatever it took to cover for the woman he loves who had done something reprehensible, out of love or for simple selfish reasons so that HIS life didn’t change…
Swap HE for SHE above as appropriate?
Or in 2007 and Ruckus just didn’t get round to crushing it.
But personally, I just don’t see Councilman Turner being so cold-blooded and conniving.
Neither do I, but I could see Ruckus hanging onto the uncrushed evidence for potential blackmail.
how long of a ride are these guys on? GOBA?

Maybe the car was put there after Ruckus went to jail?

Or the blond lady was NOT his wife, but a mistress … Dangerous Laisons !
