Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Why not Yehuda?
If it make Joe feel good and he does more miles as a result, surely the ends justify the means???
IMHO anything that encourages us to cycle more must be good thing…
That is exactly why I ride a Roubaix S-Works, though my average speed is still well under 20 mph. I put in miles and work, just because it is a joy to ride. It is also something like joining a health club and feeling guilted into going to the gym. With 4 bikes each, there isn’t an excuse for not riding. There is something in the stable that will serve for whatever and where ever we want to go in town or out. I’ll never be “worthy” of the bike, but I get immense pleasure and health benefit from riding it.
Oh, and I love the expression on Thistle’s face.
Like a Mother when her children enthuse about some new piece of information (to them) that is common knowledge to adults
Welcome to how Cervelo thrives. The only difference is that Joe isn’t a doctor or a lawyer.
this seems so out of character for yehida to describe carbon in such a complementary way. and what do the shakers have to do with carbon? not buying it.
The Shakers have been building with carbon since at least 2008: http://www.yehudamoon.com/index.php?date=2008-04-24
SNAP!!!
Middle aged man with 20 something trophy wife — same thing. If he can afford it and it makes him happy, I don’t think he cares if it makes him look ridiculous.
It is the eternal question:
Do I need that bike?
And the eternal answer: Nobody, except Flabio himself, needs that bike. But I want one
The scenery in frame 1 is quite the same as it is in

but there’s a train on the rails …
I thought, the Kickstand was in a station of a shut down railway?
@ Rick: where’s the station shown in the wallpaper? (mark in osm or googlemaps please)

So I waited a half hour before I went out on my morning ride today because of the rain (thunderstorm to be exact but, I still got rained on) and look what I missed. http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/news/crash-causes-traffic-delays-on-nb-i-75/nQD4s/ I did see the tow truck getting in position about 5 minutes before that photo was taken. Luckly for me I didn’t have to take my kid to daycare or I would have been on that sidewalk with him in tow. Normaly I do ride on the street, but when I just get going in the morning I use a sidewalk till I get warmed up. This is about a quarter mile from my house.
I guess I was too late getting to this today (05:30 08/10/12 GMT), the link is gone.
Here is some others, I don’t know why the link is broken:

(not to brag, just to share my joy)
))
Did my first “over 200km in less than 12hours” ride today! (205.69, to be precise).
Feeling goood…!
My trustworthy 5-year-old “packhorse” in full touring gear (mainly panniers with all I needed for the day, except drinks, some of which I refilled also along the way) was just enough.
However, I must admit, for an even longer ride, I would probably think about taking another bike. Although… maybe just different tyres and even more aerodynamic handlebar set would be enough.
Happy rides to you all!
