I mean, I understand using it at work, if you have to, but there are plenty of other, better options that exist. If you must stick with IE, setting it to display <i>all</i> pages in compatibility mode might cause errors with other sites. If you look around in your IE settings, there should be a way to turn compatibility mode on or off per site (which is how that feature was intended to be used). It needed 'Compatibility View' to be set to: "Display all websites in compatibility view" I just made that switch and the comments switched on as if by magic! :-) I need to print this out and keep it in a visible place in case I lose my system again...
