    Does Yehuda moult?
If he’s shaving he should go higher than that, preferably up to his face.

Off Topic…  Laptop users should know that rare earth magnets and laptops don’t mix…  A magnet fell on my laptop’s ?deck? (the area under the palm), then the computer froze, and now will not boot up.  I’m pretty sure the HD’s hosed.  Thank goodness I haven’t packed the desktop unit up yet.

Off Topic again… anybody know if Yehudamoon is accessable on the other side of The Great Firewall of China?  Thanks

Solid State Drive drive?  Is that like a PIN number?  Or perhaps an ATM machine?  My favorite is “The La Brea Tar Pits” translates to “The The Tar Tar Pits” .

Now now.  Let’s not be pedantic.  No one says “PI” number (we’d all think it was 3.14).  Easy there, Hoss. Let’s be kind today, and every day.

K’Tesh – I know you are not ‘made of money’ but there are companies around that can recover a good portion of the data from your drive if there is anything vital on there. One of our tech progams (The Gadget Show?) tested various storage devices to see what was the most rugged. HDDs did only a bit better than floppies!
USB ‘stick’ memory is the most rugged of all and some have C:-Drive volumes these days!
The problem with all solid state memories is that each ‘bit’ has a limited number of re-writes. That is how I lost my C: drive a few weeks ago. A 256Gb SSD was great for everything and super fast with office stuff, However with games, it eventually used up it’s quota and started crashing. I eventually changed to a 1TB HDD and am building up the courage to connect the SSD to extract my needed files…

With normal HHDs sometimes it is only (a bit of) the index that gets corrupted and the data is okay!
With an SSD – it is really a huge ‘read-only-memory’ put simply. So magnets have less chance of damaging them. Some of the newer ones use magnetic domains though :-(

As November Elections draw nearer (in the US, anyway) beware of the refrigerator magnets, too. Somebody handed them out at the grocery a couple of years ago. Okay, except I had dropped my ATM card in the pocket that I dropped the magnet into. They don’t play well together at all . ..

Perhaps it’s a side effect of mixing up the massage oil with chain degreaser.
(If so then Idle will be back for more.)

Damn, another comic poor Widsith can’t show his friends. I mean, if any of them saw this they might think that Widsith is accepting of men showing their hairy feet in public. Everyone knows that feet are sex objects, and only sexual deviants would want to see a man’s feet. Why, you’d have to be a brown-skinned, long-haired, sandal wearing, Jewish, carpenter hippy to want to touch another man’s feet. No sir, Widsith, you better clear the ol’ browser history after viewing this one, lest your friends think less of you. After all, that’s what Jesus taught, right? that the opinions of those around you is the most important thing in life?

I finally solved why my IE was not showing comments and blocking me from making any.
It needed ‘Compatibility View’ to be set to: “Display all websites in compatibility view”
I just made that switch and the comments switched on as if by magic! :-)

I need to print this out and keep it in a visible place in case I lose my system again…

Have you considered using a browser that isn’t IE? I mean, I understand using it at work, if you have to, but there are plenty of other, better options that exist.

If you must stick with IE, setting it to display all pages in compatibility mode might cause errors with other sites. If you look around in your IE settings, there should be a way to turn compatibility mode on or off per site (which is how that feature was intended to be used). You can then tell the browser to always display this site using compatibility mode.

Who’s Yehuda Moon?

Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.

The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.
