Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Careful Yehuda, she will “ask” you to wear a helmet next, especially after that last strip.
Here it is! (Bill..?)
message received and understood.
He even wears his hat in bed. With Idle!
I thought it was the guy who said “you can leave your hat on.”
Here’s to those wonderful women who let us keep 10+ bikes indoors.
I don’t think he needs permission to keep 10+ bikes inside the shop.
and the wonderful man hat lets me his wife keep all my bicycles indoors!
I’d be happy to find one who would be happy with at least 5. My 3, a tandem, and hers.
So, who’s up to see Yehuda and Idle at the WNBR?
Without the hat? Or a raincape?
I was hoping this one would find “A Better Fate” like the original 2012-05-11.gif and just quietly go away.
This whole story arc will end like Newhart or that season of Dallas — Idle will wake up and it will all have been a dream!!
At least we know Yehuda has lots of “rain capes”….
Can someone elaborate or maybe list the bikes Yehuda has in his quiver? I don’t seem to recall seeing more than maybe three different ones.
I only remember the Van Sweringen, the Coventry and the Grow Bike, unless you count his various “share-a-bike” models.
How long have thy been dating?
She turned up in the strip again about eight weeks ago when Yehuda chastised someone in the street for “salmoning” only to discover it was Idle … either Yehuda has some kind of animal magnetism or Idle is at least six kinds of desperate. Although maybe grease under the fingernails and the smell of Tri-Flo gets her hot???
I always thought Tri-Flo smells nice. My wife says it stinks
Whoa! How the heck did she manage to get him in her bed? Did he… you know, or was he too busy trying to figure out where to hang his ten bikes? If he really wanted a relationship with this chick, wouldn’t he leave the bikes at the shop?
“Tired of sleeping on the shop floor” does not equate with moving in somewhere else…
If you look up ”obtuse”in the OED there is a picture of a bearded guy whose eyes are covered by a Walz cap.
McQ said: “Tired of sleeping on the shop floor” does not equate with moving in somewhere else…
OTOH, it doesn’t look like they’re discussing this over a cup of coffee whle seated at a table either…..
Yehuda, for all of his wisdom, is more like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory than like Simon from the Mentalist…
No, he’s more like Sheldon Brown (RIP). Except without the family man lifestyle. What on earth a “norm” like Idle sees in him I have no idea.
Ten bikes? I’ve only ever seen him with 2 (3 if I count the fat bike I saw in one strip, but I think he was dreaming).
I wonder if there are any mountain bikes in his quiver? For that matter, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen an MTB in this strip, other than that one fatbike. Any others?
For sure he owns a moutainbike. you could imagine he was there in marin country when all started back on the 70s. This photo http://hub.sierratradingpost.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=592&d=1305321520 could be yehauda in his 20s ?
I can see him in Tom Ritchey garage helping him to tinker one of the first clunkers … so he still owns one of this old clunkers and remember going downhill those dirt roads … the good old days! happy trails¿
Does Yehuda even remember how to do THAT?
Yeah – it’s like riding a bike. An essential life skill, once learned, never forgotten.
DID he ever do that so he could remember it?
Idle might be ready, Yehuda might be ready.
But I’m not ready for “Yehudle”.
Don’t understand why he can’t keep the bikes at the Kickstand, as he presumably does now…
Maybe that’s all he has to move. 10 bikes and some clothes, possibly serval rain capes too.
…and I bet it would all fit inside the Bag of Holding.
Love the Yehudle ! (Just like Shami.)
