Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Yehuda knows how to handle his inner child well!

I love the progression from wooden horse to bike!
Must say, the edge of the road looks a little precipitous (not a word for inner children)
It’s not a road – just tall, well mowed. grass that is very thick! ;-)
There is a section of the MUP here in Dayton that is like that. It runs on top of the levy, wall to one side, the other is a steep concrete slide about 30 feet into the river. No barrier of couse.
Great!
thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning
Wonderful. This is why I check in with Yehuda Moon every day.
This 47 year old guy just bought his inner child a new bike over the weekend — he’s extremely happy now. LOL.
Every tme I get on my bike I want to yell “Wheee!” once I start moving!
So…ummm….whats stopping you?
That’s ecactly what prompted me to buy my bike about 8 years ago! What was more fun than getting on your bike as a kid and just riding, for no reason, going nowhere in particular!?
@ahoops- the only thing more fun was to get lost make a few “sweet jumps” and get found again just early enough before dark that you don’t get in trouble with your folks…
After my heart attack, I took my Trek bike out for a ride, it is less challenging to ride than the Pollard – not as fast but limited gearing makes for moderate riding anyway.
I went to look at the house I was helping my Dad buy before I got married and took a wrong turn on the way home getting lost. My short term memory loss meant I couldn’t retrace my route (my old system for getting safely home) so I used my phone’s Google Earth app to navigate my way home.
At one point I was so lost I got quite scared and almost phoned home for help. When you have lost your memory and terrain that should be familiar (I used to run along that road every morning) is strange because of new buildings etc, it is easy to feel lost and get get frightened.
I have sat-nav for my car now that has got me out of similar situations…
I think I will rig up a system to use it on whatever bike I am riding (or Trandem)
Yea!
Nice. I especially love the woodland cliff scene. I can almost smell/feel/hear it.
Looks like Yehuda is riding on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The “cliff” could very well be one side of an old lock. For an example, look here.
Looks like the site of an old lock?
@Tencon: Yes, within the tolerances of artistic license.
I want this on a shirt! I think this may be my all time favorite yehuda moon. I love this.
I’ll take a t-shirt too!
Panel 1 on front, panel 2 on back?
Iconic
3 words – best strip ever.
Thanks, Rick!
My Best ridding buddy is my grandson. I also have two more future buddies. 2 beatuful granddaughters. Not quite old or big enough for a long bike ride. But thay are working on it. I am 50+.
