Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Ya(huda’s) got my Vote!
I’d love a bumper sticker… only problem is… I don’t have a bumper!
Get one! Quite easy, if you have a (pannier-)rack.
Except, in my case, the sticker is not anything funny or election-campaign-related or whatever – but reflective.
I made an DIY extension to the stock rack, going further to the back, primarily to prevent the corners of large pannier bag(s) from getting caught in the wheel (on a really harsh bump, when unevenly loaded etc.). Looks actually quite similar to the cargo frame Xtracles have. Later, I added a plastic plate to the back of it, to serve as an additional mud-guard (protecting those behind me) – and voila! a place where you can put a bumper sticker.

Well, seems that when there is a will (to have a bumper sticker), there is a way.
What about… a milk crate on your rack?

… or a basket?

… or a child’s seat?

… or… what is that… probably Xtracycle cargo frame

Even if you are a weight-maniac and don’t want any extra accessories on your bike (warning: strong language)

… but it doesn’t have to be neither that radical neither permanent

Well. Enough fiddling about, back to work.
Just one more link, an inspiration for Joe (another “trick”)

Good day to everyone!
… just a wet & muddy stripe up your back….
He’s better qualified than any of the jerks running for, or in, the office right now.
2nd comic… looks like fun, but I’d never… ever… pull stunts like that w/o some really good rigging.
too bad for you, because they’re a lot more fun if you can get hurt doing them! (mildly hurt, lets face it, it isn’t likely you’d be disabled or killed) Well, you can always wear a helmet but may I suggest if you’re going for that, wear a real one made for real crashes, the kind that have DOT certification.
What is this world coming to? Joe is actually having fun on a bike!!!
Yeah, he’s forgetting that bikes are for training, not fun.
When Alberto Contador was asked where he would like to take a bike for a vacation, he replied that if it were a real vacation, he wouldn’t take a bike.
I love the campaign logo – ‘Moon in 2012′
I think I remember the ‘Xtracycle surfing 101′ strip from somewhere before?
With my (lack of) memory it is hard to be sure if a memory is a true one or something I make up to fit the moment!
I seem to remember seeing it before too.
This strip appeared in one of Rick’s articles in the features section; there was a photo of the original artwork on his desk.
I have that exact bike (extracycle radish). However, having ridden it with someone sitting on the back, I’m not sure I’d want to try it with them standing…
Well, that could backfire:
4 miles? 4 wheels
The close places for to go are 5 miles one way, do I need more wheels?
Yeah – one extra and get a trike so you can lock the parking brake and rest until tired legs get oxygen in them again and you can continue!
(says the man with a tandem-trike <Trandem> that has enabled the elderly and infirm to find a new lease of life…)
I’m also appreciating the nod to the Clif Bar 2-mile challenge: http://2milechallenge.com/
When I was at PBP (Paris-Brest-Paris) last year, we had an asian man there with a tennis racket mounted on his bike as a rack… Like Birch Creek said: When there is a will, there is a way.
Oh yea, for a map holder on the handlebars, he had a plastic coathanger… Quite interesting I might add…
Ooooooh, I want one of those stickers!
Whee, whee, wheeeeeeeeee………..
Do I smell a new insurance commercial??? Or a possible trip to the emergency ward…
Hey where can we get those bumper stickers?!
Yeah, I’d totally want one too
Yehuda Moon for President! Yeah!
LOL! I can like my own posts! Awesome!
Rick, are going to see more Yehuda campaign products hitting the strip (and maybe store?)
Glad to see the xtracycle ad! Thanks for posting it again Rick! I get my freeradical and longtail kit next Monday can’t wait to surf!
