Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Y doesn’t recognize one of his own bikes? That MUST be in bad shape!
Judging from how far the post is sticking up out of the seat tube and the slight bend over the back wheel it is displaying it looks like the seatpost needs replacement, and it also appears that one of the seat rails is busted too. In addition, I don’t see any brake cable from the LH brake lever, the grease in the bearings is probably long gone by now …. and five will get you ten that the wheels could use some time on a truing stand as well.
As long as the frame itself isn’t bent, if you were to give me six hours or so I could have that thing running like new.
It is – see the flies?
Dirt doesn’t matter. It cleans up. What you worry about it the condition of the frame, is the chrome amenable to an oxalic acid bath, and what parts are invariably going to have to be replaced. And how cheaply.
In fact, when I looking at a bike to buy and flip, I prefer lots of dirt. It’s a good excuse to offer less.
My bike get’s better with age – just like fine wine and my wife…. eh, maybe just the bike and the wine…
I’m gonna guess she doesn’t read this, eh Pops? ; )
Ta Daa…. you’re 100% correctomundo…. tell em what he’s won Johnny!!!!!
LOL, I’m not surprised he doesn’t recognize it. he didn’t mark them (not even with stickers or stencil and spraypaint) and they’re a collection of old beaters. He does need to follow up on his share a bike program, however, or it’s just a way to avoid paying dump fees on junk bikes.
I still think Idle has creepy eyes…
