Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Amen Brother Moon!
Just like this morning for me!
Same here, makes it hard to get off the bike and go into the library and study.
Google login still not working…
This was just like my ride in this AM – except better because the sun was directly behind me! It’s the perfect day for a 75 mile ride – not that I’m going to ride 75 miles, far from it – but the perfect day for it nonetheless!
Oh. I just realized that I had the wrong mindset this morning as I swore about the bright sun in my eyes and the fact that I had forgotten my (YM wool)cap at home.
Good thing you realized in the end.
“Let the sunshine in” and sing “good morning, starshine”…
After some time again, another great little strip conveying a strong, familiar feeling, an atmosphere, an emotion. Working like a charm. A blessing.
That’s one of the reasons I started to love this comics.
Delighted this morning.
Thanks, Rick, and good day to you all.
beautiful drawing, but yehuda forgot his rear brake.. wondering where the cable ends.
Just enjoy the sun shine.
Maybe he’s riding a fixie today. Front brake is enough.
one of those magical 10speed-derailer-fixies ?
Famous last words: “Front brake is enough”
Good News everyone – My order of books 2, 3 and 4 arrived this morning!
Good reading will follow . . . I have to take the cats for their boster vaccinations soon.
@Holodri – maybe Yehuda has some of those new-fangled linear-accelerator brakes that can double as optional drive assistance and are built into the stays?
As for a power supply – he probably has a cold-fusion plant in his bag of holding!
ah, an eddy-current brake for bikes. better track stand than grab the metal rod at the traffic light if something went wrong.
Haven’t seen it yet. Hit the road at 0520, back home by 0605 to punch in to work. Little early in the year to be seeing a sunrise at those hours.
Magic hour starts in 48 minutes. I’d better get myself moving.
Here comes the sun (doo doo doo doo)
Here comes the sun, and I say
It’s all right
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
(Lyrics by the Beatles)
15 min. Hitting the roads.
Love the illustration on this strip!
That’s my favorite part about morning rides. I like starting when it’s still dark and the stars are out, and then seeing the sky gradually brighten as the sun comes up.
yeah .. the downside is when i ride home in the early morning i’m usually way too tired and drunk to appreciate it accordingly
And also some of those mornings in summer when you get out really early (lets say, after some colder, or perhaps even rainy night, but with the sky clear again) and the air is still quite chilly, and you feel a bit cold too (or call it “fresh”), until the sun finally radiates more and more and gradually warms you up…
Then you pause somewhere for a while and a peculiar feeling fills your body (and mind) – being a little bit weary (…? I’m not sure of the right word right now, but at least some of you will know) after negotiating the coldness, and maybe also from getting up that early, but at the same time filled with vibrant energy, and you regard the landscape with squinting eyes, as the sun is still at a low angle, and a broad silly smile on your face, for witnessing the birth of a glorious new day…
Though I’m more of “the owl type” and I usually like to sleep longer in the morning, I really love this feeling, when, for whatever reason, I”m awake to greet the rising sun…
(Did I get too carried away?)
)
I love this type of YMATKSC comic. Great job. We can all relate to this. Too bad I just took a promotion and won’t be cycling to work anymore. 30 miles each way on the interstate, 40 miles each way with tons of traffic on the non-interstate roads. :< sigh!
I give up. What is YMATKSC?
(Finally got Google login to work by going through Blogger!)
Look at the title in the widow of your browser…
sorry, Yehuda Moon and the Kickstand Cyclery
Y’s showing a lot of seat post in that first panel. The seat looks almost a foot taller than the top of the handlebars.
That strip = priceless
