That scribble resembles Rick’s ‘shorthand’ for a swear-word. So maybe Yehuda heard a new curse and made a note of it? ;-)

It just occurred to me that Yehuda may be right handed, was holding something in his right hand so needed to make the note with his left – hence the scribble?

I’m beginning to wonder if the workbench behind Yehuda is always the same across the entire comic, or suffers minor revisions from time to time. I don’t remember the air hose…

It wouldn’t need to be the same across the entire comic – just since the Kickstand was rebuilt, since everything was destroyed in the fire.

That’s why I don’t bother to write anything.  Even in the best of circumstances, it is illegible.
Off subject, in today’s “Classic Kickstand” there seems to be an invisible cylist.  Or else he was snatched by a giant eagle.  I’m going to have to search the archives to figure out what it means when the tire tracks in the snow ends, but there is no evidence of what came next…

What “Classic Kickstand”?  I’m only seeing the 4-panel strip everybody else is discussing.
      And yes, I am a paid-up member.

Back when the Kickstand went black, somebody put up a google gadget to see classics.  The most recent batch are all riding in the snow.  Today’s shows a track leading to a slight rear wheel wiggle and a foot down…  but the bike and rider are gone while there are no further tracks.

I am pretty sure I know the strip you are referring to, although I don’t have Kickstand Classics. It’s in book three, page 16 (you got the books on Kickstarter, right?). You’ll notice the track actually loops back after the footprint, revealing the bicycle has turned around and headed back the way it came. In the last panel, Yehuda says “Point, Winter.” He started off in the snow, but gave up and turned back because it was too tough. His comment suggests he competes with winter, and accepted defeat for the day.

No, that isn’t it.  It looks kind of like the one at the top of page 15, however there is only one footprint to the left of the stopped ront tire track.  That is all.  It really looks like we are either looking through an invisible cyclist or else something swooped down and snatched him, bike and all, straight up!

I scanned through all 4 books and didn’t find this one!  I don’t know when it “aired.”

The one you’re talking about was from March 10, 2010.  It was titled “Stopping Point (Again)” and indicated that Rick was taking a break from doing the strip for a few weeks.  Since it wasn’t part of a story line, there was no follow-up strip to explain it.  When Rick was preparing the books for publication he went back and filled in the gaps with new strips.  He replaced the original March 10th strip with a new one, which is titled “The More the Merrier?” and which fits in better with the rest of the new strips.  The new version is the one that was printed in the book.

When Rick started the “Kickstand Club” he changed the directory on his server where the strips are stored, and that directory contains the new version of the strip.  The Kickstand Classics gadget must be looking at the old directory, which still contains the original version of the strip.

He probably meant ‘taxes,’ although I can’t imagine why he’d want extras

He really meant “artex sexat.” He obviously wrote it in Basque.

No, it means nothing.  It’s just a way for Rick to rework the words of the song title into the title of the strip.

Extra Textas? For writing price tickets, repair tags, messages on the back of a hand. Or would Yehuda use a Skerple or a Staunion

Who’s Yehuda Moon?

Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.

The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.
