Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Poor Thistle but I can understand Yeuda’s zeal. That’s the driver who’s gonna skittle someone someday. First post and first for me ever.
Easy to do from Western Australia. Good morning rest of the world and have a safe ride to work.
Welcome. I wonder if we have a time zone advantage re first posting being here, although I’m on the other side (NSW).
Can understand Yehuda’s attitude – you see them texting and wonder what can be done to wake them up.
Except that all Yehuda accomplished was to aggreviate the driver. There was no lesson learned, no message sent. That driver will likely be more hostile towards cyclists now. Good work Yehuda.
Your suggestions?
Seriously and honestly – I’m asking, not trying to provoke.
I’m not a fan of air horns but this might be a useful application.
Defensive riding. Seriosuly, you won’t get through to these people and will just make them angry.
One doesn’t always do it for the good reasons. Sometimes one just has to get the frustration out of one’s system and throw fistfuls of pennies at the jerks. LOL!
I remember some kids in the mall one day throw pennies off the 2nd level. It was pretty obnoxious and potentially dangerous and of course they would just run laughing and come back if you sent security after them. I went around picked up all the pennies and called for more. They thought that was funny for a time or two but soon decided that feeding the crazy woman at the mall wasn’t really all that exciting.
Doing nothing is how evil triumphs. Do something. Video them, put them on YouTube, put their number plates in google, report them to the police.
@Adam DZ: Or, as Murphy puts it: “Never argue with a fool, people might not know the difference.”
He’s going to be hostile to cyclists anyway, so why not at least make him think a bit. I’ve often wished I had a handfull of ball bearings or pebbles at crosswalks as drivers stare at me like I’m from Mars as I wait to cross with one foot in the painted lines. Betcha they’d stop if I flung a handful of debris at their windshield.
Ahhh … gotta chill out … too many bad vibes. I am one with the universe, one with the universe, one with …
I truly wish for a bar-mounted paint-ball gun. Go ahead, be a jerk to me… *SPLAT!*. Bright red… like the blood you nearly spilled. Explain that to the wife, you blockhead, and have fun washing it off!
Driving in the city one time I stopped at red lights. The driver behind me was having an animated phone conversation. Didn’t fancy having him driving behind me in traffic, so when the lights turned green I stayed put. After a while the guy notices the lights have changed, and beeps his horn. I make putting down mobile phone gestures; he points at phone with an interogatory face. I nod. He puts down the phone, I drive on. Before long he’s overtaking me, fast and swerving, with angry gestures and inaudible but rude lookiing words.
So – the question is: Is it more dangerous to have an inattentive fool on a mobile driving behind me, or a pumped up angry idiot rampaging all over the city streets? Send answers to me on a £10 note – or just make a straw poll on this forum….
Good point. I rarely mind people honking their horns at me when they’re behind me – it means at least they’ve noticed me! The rare road ragers are another matter…
Hmm, he just might be someone worth using the new impaired driver reporting system. They’re putting ads all over the busses “Report impaired driving, pull over, dial 911″ and really how often are you in a situation where you’ll do that, but that would really spice up a road rager’s day to be checked for DUI.
I wonder if this cyclist threw pennies at the bus driver: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbyTSX67_IA
A penny saved is a penny earned…
OMG this is a comic it didn’t really happen. Lighten up people and laugh. YM did what many of us would like to do on a daily basis. It’s like saying “I am going to smack you over your head if you don’t knock that off.” I don’t know how many times I have heard my mom say that when I was a kid. Relax she never did that but she threatened a lot. I would hope no one would do what YM does and remember this is susposed to be a funny.
We are relaxed:)
Those pennies broke my screen! ! !
Wonder how long it will take those welts on my head to clear up?
Just as an aside — is it just me, or does it seem that technology that literally didn’t even exist ten years ago always seems to become something that the masses absolutely, positively *MUST* have? And I’m not just talking smartphones here.
So does Yehuda have a new housesitting gig, or was he just on the way back in from an late winter’s morning out & back from the shop?

Little echo there, Duck …
