This strip reminds me of cycling here in Sydney, Australia at the moment. With the La Nina cycle we've had a very, very cool and wet summer! Why did I not buy that new raincape when I had the chance?

:) That is the river water surface these days. It has been freezing for several days (weeks, better saying), but no snow - so that the ice on the river is glass-clear, almost invisible, although it is about 20cm (roughly 8 inches) thick. However, for the picture, I didn't choose that part of the ice (as there would be nothing to see), but a part with frozen-in bubbles. First, there was a thin layer of ice. A bubble came up from the bottom of the river, got stuck under the ice. Later, another layer of ice was added from below, as the frost continues, and the bubble was "conserved" there. After some time, another bubble came up... the same thing happened... and again and again. So what you see are pillars of air bubbles captures in a thick layer of ice.

---

By the way, this is the first time I post logged-in under an account - thanks to my "anonymous patron", as Rick named him/her. I'd like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH! again to that person, hope you read it, in case you missed my thanks earlier. :)

Rain? What rain?
In my town, its freezing... (about -10°C / 14°f during the day, less at night) and its getting rare to see any water in its fluid form outside. :)
The river looks like this (yesterday's picture): http://img.geocaching.com/cache/large/35847b74-036c-4feb-a7ce-18e9f53f9c5d.jpg

Oh my! I´m deeply moved. In all the bleak circumstances of the past few months with a little to find some joy in, this means the more to me. Not only the subscription itself, but the fact that someone cares about a stranger in this way...
Dear "Donor", THANK YOU! And I hope that by the end of this year, I'll be in a better situation, so that I would be able to pay for my and YOUR subscription for the next year, to return the courtesy. Seriously, mark my words. Thank you!
(Rick, an email follows).

In the bonus comic, are those Ergo brifters for a Campy gruppo? I rocked a Centaur gruppo on the show bike I built back in 2004 (built as in welded/brazed the frame tubes, laced the rims to the hubs, chased and face the head tube and BB shell, hauled the finished frame to the powdercoater on the bus...)
