Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Finally getting some winter weather? I hear it’s been mild in the midwest USA.
I figured by the time this strip ran, we’d have a snow blanket. No such luck.
No matter, it’s gorgeous, classic, lovely and worthwhile. It’s great for merch too, this will look lovely on a calendar, mug, tee, placemat, tattoo…. hee hee
That’s a great idea! I am imagining a one pint fat mug with this image wrapped around it. I would buy at least 6 for the dinner table. Nice cups of coffee…
Rick – Look out the window! Your wish has come true!
It’s 50º and raining here in southern New Engand….my only real complaint is that it makes it hard to not ride my bike when I want to do the traditional “winter projects”
Aaaaah, that’s the way I like it!
The winter in Stockholm, Sweden has been mild so far, so commuting has been more about getting soaked in dirty icecold water than gliding along like Yehuda does.
Update on the alleycat race: we’re postponing it for the time being – some details need to get worked out before we can continue. We’ll post the new date soon.
I’ve been totally OK with the cleveland winter this year. Completely fine with it.
Looks like Minesota at 7AM. Hmm, is it a sign of an early morning ride?
Perfect time for Joe to show off some of those fat tire bikes he mentioned!
Love fresh snow. If you are careful, you’ll enjoy every minute of it. But, ice is a different animal, you hit a little patch and down you go
Todays episode really captures the atmosphere that comes with winter. Nice!
I’m looking forward to the first few days with good sub zero temperatures. Some snow would be nice too.
Anyone riding in a Critical Mass ride tonight? Looks like favorable conditions for me in Fort Worth, with the wind changing during the ride so I should have it at my back both to and from the ride.
Hell hasn’t frozen over yet, so the conditions are not yet favorable for me to participate in or to lend any sort of support to Critical Mass.
Nah, I grew up decades ago.
This looks like my ride has for the past several weeks. Too bad the first tracks are long gone. I love the total silence a nice mat of fresh snow gives.
I feel a T-shirt design coming on.
Strips like this are the reason I say that Rick does the best treatment of light and shadow of any cartoonist I know.
I wish I had the chance to ride on the white stuff. It’s been in the 60′s here in Virginia this week. We usually get 1 or 2 small snow deposits each year but this winter has been pretty warm. On the other hand, my heating bill is lower than budgeted. More money for bikes! yea
I’m not bitching – I don’t have to put up with Richmond drivers losing all ability at the threat of freezing rain or snow. Doesn’t hurt that I’m almost 100 miles ahead of last January.
Dang, I miss my days of commuting to College in the snow in Flagstaff.
You’d be missing it if you were there now. We live in Winslow, about 60 miles east, and while it has been pretty cold there has been very little precipitation. Remember all those piles of snow in the parking lots? None this year so far.
50 degrees and raining in Boston today. I’m really wishing for more snow this year. These rides are beautiful !
The weather forecast tonight said that northern and higher parts of the UK could expect a little snow tonight.
Maybe the strip is a weather forecast for us?
That looks like a chinook arch in the distance.
Only had one worthwhile snowfall here in Indy, and another expected that didn’t show up. Only a matter of time though …
Lovely strip, Rick. Very classic.
Just wait until Super Bowl weekend . . . . . . . . .
nice image, and is Yehuda riding Delta Cruiser Cremas? as soon as it melts and freezes better swap in the Marathon Winters or… wham!
You were right Rick, I do like this one!
High 60s and howling winds going grocery shopping in Garland TX today.
95 in Melbourne today
