Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

I didn’t know that Yehuda was in the PDX area today… He should have called.
I know global warming is real but an Igloo in Shaker Heights? Really
I see the stripes that camauflage the words on the ‘Club Links’ box are back:-(
Really, is too hard to put them wider and outside the text so the words can be read easily?
Send me a screenshot, Tencon – not seeing it on the browsers I’m testing with.
Hi Rick, I am using Firefox and it looks good to me.
I’m using IE8, and all of the page above the comic, including the “Club Links” is a mess. The cure seems to be to click the icon “Compatibility View” which is right next to the Refresh Button. Fixes everything nicely, but has to be done each day. I have been told this occurs because Microsoft wants to go its own way regarding webpage display protocols (whatever that means).
Garry,
I believe this has been fixed for IE8 (in both modes). Let me know if it looks okay in compatibility mode. Thanks for the catch.
Everything seems to be OK in Firefox 3.5.6/Mac OS X 10.5.8 intel.
Can’t log in with Safari 5.0.6 on the same Mac.
Works fine with Safari 5.1.2 on Mac OS X 10.7.2 here. The whole Club Links banner has good contrast and is easy to read.
Now, Safari is working as well.
Sorry for posting anoymousely the last time.
Working fine in Chrome
The site looks good using Opera 11.6.
Among web develpers the IE browser is fondly known as ______ing IE. For those who don’t want to switch IE9 and IE10 do seem to offer some hope as sites transition to HTML5.
In the meantime, IE8 users can get some relief by rendering all sites in compatatbility view. Tools/Compatabilty View Setttings/check the display all sites option,
either that or “Internet Exploder” – looks fine in Chrome, and thanks for fixing the “Today’s” button, Rick!
Yep… definitely need compatability mode in IE 8… it looks like it went thru a blender w/o.
And I thought I had a head wind this morning!
Login is not working for me!
Fixed. The IE8 fix mentioned above has been rolled back. Will look for another fix.
hehehe another excelent comic Rick & Brian… Too funny, I will laugh about this one all day as I am fighting the wind.
He could have just ridden north a bit into Canada. Most Americans (ie: US Citizens, since both are technically “Americans”) think Canadians live in Igloos and have pet penguins.
Platypius - Surely Not!? Is it possible that there is anyone who doesn’t know that penguins are on ly found in the Southern hemisphere?
Um… you don’t? ; )
Next thing you’re going to tell us that you all don’t speak French as a first language.
What a coincidence to see this comic. The weather was exactly like this in Boston this morning! First time we’ve had any precipitation in a few weeks. Still I wonder… WHERE IS WINTER? It’s the middle of January and its been above freezing on the regular the whole time! The warmer weather is nice, but I do like a good snow fall on the occassion.
It’s up here, Chris: just arrived in Maine this morning!
We’re expecting Moon-like weather her ein indy tomorrow — first snowfall commutes are the best!!
BTW, Explorer wouldn’t let me post, Rick; had to shift to Firefox to post a comment.
All, excuse the sloppy typing above. Put it down to the impending anticipation of the first ride this year through the powder. One to five inches between noon and tomorrow forecasted. I suppose this stuff will get old by February, but right now I’m looking forward to it … well, that and the very real possibility of a four-day weekend if there’s a school snow day tomorrow.
OT: In the spirit of Yehuda, I went out and used some paint on the road the other day to highlight a problem with the bike lanes… I sent an email to several agencies (news, advocacy, and government) as well as lawyers with the reason behind it… A few days later, I got this news…

You the man!
That deserve a great big “atta boy”!
Don’t try that in California, the “no-no” state. You’d get hauled up before a judge and fined if not jailed!
Site looks fine in FF3.6.24 under Ubuntu 10.04LTS. All buttons clearly visible.
