Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Mine are too… Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter…
It’s unseasonally warm here in London too. I kind of want it to get colder so I have an excuse to wear all the winter kit I bought in expectation of keeping riding through the snow!
meh. even the roadies i know like to ride on the sunny days
I’m rather liking not wearing the work boots for the day. I have zero issues wearing street shoes. Oh comfort in January so rare.
Here in Winslow, AZ (where we do little more than “standin’ on the corner”) the weather seems to be stuck in the in-between period where you need leg warmers, short sleeves, a lightweight jacket with zip-off sleeves to remove after 15 minutes and to tuck away after 30, and ear warmers.
Does anybody make gloves with zip-off fingers?
I’ve worn woollen mittens over regular cycling cloves. Warmth plus palm protection.
I saw your “worn woollen mittens” and thought “warm woollen mittens” which then led to “whiskers on kittens”, “bright copper kettles, and brown paper packages tied up with string”… Now I’ve got that song running though my head. I’m glad it’s one of my favorite things.
I passed through Winslow, AZ in 1973 and saw no girl in a flat bed Ford.
As a shop owner, I hope it never gets cold! I always dread the “cell phone gets shut off, cable gets shut off” time of the year between Xmas and Spring.
Temp is mild in Nashville. One cold day so far. Winter where have you gone?
It isn’t winter in Seattle, either. Hope we don’t get a repeat 2011, where winter came late and lasted through July.
Freezing in Central California – I haven’t ridden in to work the last 2 days as the AM temps have been in the low to mid 30s. That’s F.A.C. for this part of the world – no thanx!
I’m not complaining really except thats its really hard to contemplate an overhau of my bike when its 45 degrees out on the second week of Jan
Not that the weather in Reno every causes me to hang a bicycle up….but I sure do miss having a ski season!
The other day I thought about going for a ride, but the temp was 38F, and at this time of year I really don’t like going out until the mercury is below 30F.
Nothing like a ride when its below 20F to make you feel alive.
I won’t even set foot in a place that cold, much less live there, or go outside there! HA!
We in Maine were really beginning to wonder where on earth winter was. Then we saw the 18 feet of snow in Alaska, and wondered no longer. We’re staying below 30* at commute times now, but that’s still on the warm side.
I didn’t get 18′ in Kodiak, but we’ve gotten several feet in the last few days here. Waiting for the rain to wash it all away while I slog it out in the mush. Winter is over here Y, it must just like the Alaska scenery better than Ohio.
Seeing more roadies in Minneapolis, hah!
Once you get hooked on winter riding, you will never turn back (though the snow may make it easier to do so, but maybe you’ll get used to the outdoors and…have a winter bike!)
Yes it is unusal, I have not used my studded tires yet, but we still have at least two months to go. In the MidWest they say, if you don’t (or you do) like the weather wait until tomorrow
Here in North Idaho, they say, “If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute. …Or, walk a mile….” Lots o’ little micro-climates. Whee!
It snowed today in our (Vic, Australia) alpine regions. On the weekend, we had 100degF heat. Craziness!
(Still rode, of course)
