It was all springy out here until I woke up on Wednesday to be buried under 4 inches of fresh snow. A stark reminder that I still live in San Francisco.

A friend messaged me and asked if I’d like to take a walk in the dark since the wind stopped blowing…no bicycle, but we found a geocache on this lovely spring evening. Just feeling really grateful to be alive today…sorry if it comes across as a bit Pollyanna-esque. Wow! You must have been thinking about Seattle today Rick. The first day it hit 55 degrees since November 4th of last year. Like November 4th it was not just over 55 but over 60 too! After clouds and rain almost every day for the past few weeks it felt soooo good.

79 degrees is my *perfect* temperature. Not too hot, not too cool. Perfect. That’s pretty much a summer day here where I live.

Jealous of the areas with actual spring weather. We’ve had a hint last week but it’s currently snowing and I just heard the weatherman say that temperatures should get above freezing in a couple more days. Now to melt the 3 – 5 ft snowbanks and we’ll be set.

I rode out to visit friends this afternoon and it was beautiful. In addition to the shrubs and pear trees in bloom that I metioned this morning, I saw lots of white dogwood blossoms and lovely purple crape myrtle; and the air was full of the scent of honeysuckle and jasmine. The temperature was 79 °F today, but it’s supposed to get back down to 39 °F tomorrow evening.

Thanks so much. I have to rest several days in advance to have a day like today, and then I have to rest for a few days afterward. The secret is to be grateful for when I *can* be active. And I am very, very grateful for days like today.
