Yehuda is too conscientous to do that to both himself and his bike. He’d leave the bike with Thistle or the local Bike Collective.

Surely not a response to losing the sales bet?

Actually, I suspect this is Cartoon Land, where Yehuda would keep walking and surface the other side of the lake/flood/mud/whatever. Please?

Nice change of direction for a “single day comic” Breaks up the strenuous plot and character development that goes on. :P

No, really, this was fresh and fun. It’s always great to have a feelgood strip every once in a while.

love this particular strip, the style puts me in mind of the illustrations Arthur Ransome penned for the ‘Swallows and Amazons’ serie of books. And is that a singlespeed, or an SA 3-speed hub.. ??

LOL – you nailed that one!

My guess is that Yehuda rides an internal gear – not really sure, but it would seem to fit.

I think that South Chagrin Reservation is next to Lake Wobegone; that must be the creek that feeds it.

Reminds me of a recent excursion on a trail next to a new beaver dam.

Haha! I laughed. I’ve definitely had a few days like that on my trusty Mountain Goat. “Oh, hey… a shortcut!” – followed by sinking knee-deep into a quagmire. Whoops!

Looks like the Kickstand will have to introduce a new frame design for offroad riders in the Cuyahoga Valley — they can call it the Summit. However, no MTB that I know of could have helped Yehuda with that little “short cut!”

@45rpm: I think Yehuda would rather drive for a week than use any other IGH than a Sturmey-Archer. That’s the reason he isn’t already on a bakfiets.

Reminds me of my 10-year-old and me on Saturday. Our first mountain biking experience ever! (At least we were a little more prepared for it than using city bikes with baskets and wearing sandals!)

Cleveland’s got so many “great” place names: The Chagrin Reservation, Terminal Tower, Lake Erie!

RE: South Chagrin Reservation. I grew up in Chagrin Falls (went to school with Bill Watterson of “Calvin & Hobbes”). South Chagrin is a great place for hill training (and sledding in the winter!)

And they’re going to build a Medical Mart at Terminal Tower. I’ll bet there’s going to be a lot of Chagrin at that one!

Not being so fond of the current T-shirt, I vote for this as the new one as well because I’ll buy it!

Who’s Yehuda Moon?

Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.

The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.
