Yep, Boris cycles, but it remains to be seen what priority he gives to cycling. Given he wasn't really elected having made a priority of cycling, who knows?

(BTW: I'm in UK and use 'road' bike in the 'racing' sense. For a bike with muguards etc, I'd use the phrase 'touring bike' or 'city bike' - my current bike neatly falls between cracks, it's a MTB style Bike Shaped Object to which I've fitted racks, non knobbly tyres etc).

New to this site - hope you guys come back to review comments on "old" strips...
@JB - my 'city' in the Netherlands just took a two lane street with a painted bike lane (and a tram line between the carriageways - we have public transport here!) and made it single lane with a raised bike lane at 'sidewalk' level. Plus at some junctions and roundabouts ('traffic circles' in US, right?) cars have to give way to bikes crossing.

@ Rene - London (England !) now has a Mayor who cycles...

By the way, who said UK and US were two nations divided by a common language? I thought a road bike was for riding on roads, cf ATB for riding off-road... It seems that, in the US, a 'road' bike is what we call a 'racing' bike - no mudguards or carrier, useless for real life (commuting, shopping, picnics with the family). Oh, well...!
