Twine can be used over the whole of the bars or over tape. It’s more durable, especially if shellacked. I think it’s a practical old-timey thing that Joe picked up from that booklet (which I’d like to know more about), though it is also popular among hip young things on fixies.

I think it always looks good. http://www.instructables.com/id/Handlebar-barwrapgrips—whipping-and-shellac-cov/

Probably looks fantastic, but feels like shards of glass. No thanks, petrochemical “cork” for me, every time.

Ah, hay-bail twine — for that rustic Pennsylvania style.

Who’s Yehuda Moon?

Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.

The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

  • @lrgmnky usually no, but in the past 2 weeks I was tailgated/beeped at & another day told I should be ashamed of myself. Nice, huh? 01:18:54 PM June 10, 2013 from Twitter for Android in reply to lrgmnky ReplyRetweetFavorite
