from:

http://jimlangley.blogspot.com/2008/03/must-read-yahuda-moon-cycling-comics.html

Nice interview with the real life Yehuda Moon here, his name is Rick Smith:

http://crankedmag.com/

(scroll about 2/3 down the page). Turns out he's not a bike store mechanic, but instead he's a web developer for an insurance company. He does bike 24 miles round trip on his daily commute through Cleveland, an inspiration for many strips. Lots of snow and ice in recent strips, but he plans to do bike camping and other themes soon.
In case you're wondering, the "Lauterbrunnental Leaflet" is indeed a satire on the Rivendell Reader. Rick was inspired by buying a set of all the Rivendell Readers on eBay, so he likes and enjoys them, but they are also good for satire.

What is the name of the Leaflet? I can never read it. I know it is a reference to the Rivendell Reader.
