BTW, if you move a turtle, always move it to the side of the road for which it was headed when you found it, or it will just turn around and cross the road again after you leave. The females are looking for a proper place to lay their eggs in the spring. Also, if it&#039;s a snapping turtle, the only safe way to pick it up is by the tail--and hold it away from your legs, too!!</description>
