Yesterday AM I caught, and rode in to work with, a full carbon guy with 23s, me on the 26x2.125 fat tire slicks singlespeed cruiser (stealth feather light) Schwinn Panther with fenders, rack and milk crate full of stuff on the back. Huffed and puffed more than i'd have liked, but no problem rolling at speed. Was rewarded on outbound PM commute by light rain, thus justifying the fenders.

My commute to work is used frequently by people training for triathalons. I'm on a knoby 29r and they go by on full carbons with 23s... I don't even try... anymore.
