Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Come now, helmets aren’t heavy… still, that mother is a doofus.
Jr. has weak neck muscles due to X-box usage.
What I hate is when the parent is riding with the kid on the back, on one of those trailing bikes- and only the kid has a helmet on. A head injury is a million dollars if the person lives, how’d they’d like their kid to grow up without a parent??
Parents need to realize that helmets are for cyclists no matter what the age, and be willing to invest in a good comfortable helmet, still much cheaper than an ambulance ride.
While we’re at it, Yehuda should know better. He’s crashed on black ice before… I hope his hat is one of those new helmets that looks like a tweed pith helmet– and not just a cap.
Yehuda has crashed before and didn’t suffer brain damage, supporting his view that bike accidents aren’t usually that serious. Would you start wearing a helmet for walking if you tripped over, or for driving if someone ran into the back of your car?
Don’t get me started on helmets….
