Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

hahah will be interesting to see if joe because a convert…. velomobiles, for closet recumbent riders
A closet recumbent rider … I can live with that
I hope to have a Velomobile a Sinner Mango or a Borealis V3 by the end of 2013
Just read about a guy who had his velomobile stolen… Got it back when the thief was dumb enough to try and sell it on Craigslist. So, that makes me wonder, will “The Club” work on one of those?
That’s one of the advantages of recumbents and velomobiles.
Unlike bikes they do get noticed and recovered if stolen (or used for joyrides … ).
The club does work, especially if you knock a few heads with it…
Soo … anyone know what type velomobile it is ?
It does not look like a Quest or Mango.
It looks a bit like the Belgian WAW ( http://www.fietser.be/ )
It looks like a hybrid cross between a Mango and a Milan?
However, I see what you mean about the WAW as (in their words) ‘The WAW is a superfast velomobile.’
Just give it the same colouring and sell the ‘superfast’ aspect to Joe and we have a convert?
Stu would have a fit!
At are lots of different velomobiles shown.
It’s a comic strip.
I would say that it’s a facsimile of a WAW. There are three Velonauts here on this not so remote Island. A WAW, a Carbon Fiber Mango + and my Quest.
They are all fast but of course my Quest is the fastest…….(-;
could be a Milan (http://www.milan-velomobil.de/)
When the oil runs out, those things will own the freeways
and you can hear their squealing chain from far far away
Vegetable oil.
thought oil ran out ? cars’d run on vegetable oil too..
The amount of oil you need to run a car is huge. The amount of lube on my chain is small, and lasts way longer. That means that a cars is unaffordable long before I can no longer put oil on my bicycle chain.
Chains don’t squeal. I got over 19,000 miles out of my first chain and cassette in my Quest.
I would say thats a Milan, a teammember of mine has one
Very nice ride!
Never ever a Milan. That one comes very close to a WAW, although the rear part is a bit short.
Joe, give it a try, I want to see the grin in you face!
agree it looks like a WAW
It is a comic strip. And I thought it was better than average lately. Lol tinted windows. Joe is such a speed addict.
I’m getting one to show off in San Diego. A Rotovelo. Going to do the Fiesta Islnd TT in it.
You’re top speed is 53? Impressive, here’s mine…

That’s my daily descent. Typically I ride the brakes more and keep it under 50.
Of course I have to climb it every evening.

That is a WAW. The Milan is very distinctive and this doesn’t have the right bulges. It is a little short in the back. There isn’t enough room for a 622 or 559 wheel (700c or 26″) and the rider to fit behind the visor. But that is true no matter what velo it is supposed to represent. The Milan has enclosed wheel wells and this is open. It is definately a WAW.
One of those big ticket items on my wishlist is the velomobile that picks up the groceries. However I do wonder how it will cope with our snow packed ruts. The narrower track of my car already means straddling carefully and driving straight and sure on the center like a tight rope. A bike can hug the parking lane in those cases or take an alley or sidewalk if necessary. The velomobile must stay pretty close to the normal driving pattern I’m sure.
You’re right Yolanda – also the two-track nature of a three-wheeler has problems that, without suspension’ would soon be apparent to Joe. That of being thrown around as one side lifts/falls relative to the other. Less noticeable in a low-profile velomobile, but a problem for a 700c trike like our Trandem. Fine for smooth, level, tarmac but a pain in any other circumstance…
An example of how fast a velomobile can be:

yeah probably a waw…. although could also be a sunrider with cap or a borealis v3…… hard to tell from a cartoon. oh and thanks for posting my vid bikingbill….. I do have some faster runs on video though.
here is one of my faster downhill runs…..
