Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

That’s the same problem I have wearing rain gear 10 months of the year in TX. Even if you don’t get any rain on you, you still get soaked only with somehting that smells a whole lot worse than rain…
If it’s warm and it rains I just get wet. It’s indeed impossible to dress for rain in warm weather.
The rain, fog and dark await me, no dodging it today though in recent weeks I have mostly managed it
I still say that riding naked solves both problems… you don’t overheat, and you probably need the shower anyway
One problem with that: skid marks on the saddle.
Just leave the bike out in the rain!
Never mind Zorba – nobody took the bait!
This Idle/Yehuda thing seems to be getting serious….in which case riding naked could lead to all sorts of other problems, if you get my drift.
In principle its a great idea and would surely reduce the amount of unhealthy gymnophobia and body obsession that plagues the Western world – but for most people the practicalities are winter temperatures, summer sun, and the risk of arrest.
Slip sliding away, slip sliding away
You know the nearer your destination, the more you slip sliding away
I know a woman, (who) became a wife
These are the very words she uses to describe her life
She said a good day ain’t got no rain
She said a bad day is when I lie in the bed
And I think of things that might have been
(Lyrics Paul Simon)
Dang! All these years I thought the lyrics were “… venereal destination …” Ah well, it’s still a great song.
Well now I know what today’s earworm is going to be. (not actually complaining)
Drip Drying away… Drip Drying Away…
You know the nearer your destination the more soon you can be drip drying away…
I know a man
He came from home town…
Wore his passion for his bicycle like a thorny crown…
At least my sweat is my own; who knows where that rain water has been?
Yehuda should have worn one of the rain capes he was trying to sell a while back. They’re good for ventilation…
My back still gets sweaty using a cape, and it blocks my view of my mirror. Kind of a pain off the bike, too, though I could adjust to that.
Rick, I’ve been slack. I haven’t bothered to log in to Yehuda and subscribe since you set up the log in thing. Your e-mail to the previous kickstarter run has done the trick. I’ve paid for the 5th book, and now i’m signing up.
I guess my message is… sometimes spam rocks!
Rain water has been distilled from Oceans, lakes, rivers, etc. A few airborne contaminants at low levels. Even after going through a rainwater collection system, it is probably purer than any bottled water except distilled water.
Sure he wasn’t dodging the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orionids Meteor Shower?
is that shirt wool? it’s wicking well
