Beautiful. It’s been cool riding in to work several times over the last week and it’s refreshing to get to work refreshed instead of soaked.

Excellently put – this is my favourite time of year to ride a bike. Another beautiful autumn strip!

Just look out for slippery wet leaves… ate it once when I hit a layer of them on a curve.

Also holes, stones etc. hidden under a thick layer of leaves (usually those just laying loose, blown to one place by the wind). Quite similar to riding in snow. Or after dark. Oh well, all of this comes with autumn. :)
      I like autumn.
(and winter. and spring. and summer.)

One of my most memorable accidents was my first encounter with autumn leaves in a flat corner. I was 19 years old and had never ridden anywhere but Southern California. Who knew that San Angelo, TX (home of Goodbuddy Airplane Patch) would have 4 seasons and that one of them would be so insidiously beautiful…

We’ve got our cold weather coming on nicely, but I’m still waiting for the rain to start up. We’re 4 races into CX season already, and nary a speck of mud to be seen. :-(

I for one do not like winter. I dread cold weather, short days and dark days. I would not mind living in year round warm climate. I will keep riding during each wiinter, but that does not mean I like it.

I love winter, and would not mind if the temperature never got higher than about 55 °F (13 °C) in the summer. If I could afford to do so, I think I’d like to retire in Iceland (the Land of Fire and Ice). :-)

I wish we had any type of autumn here in Winnipeg. It just went from 29C to snow within a couple of days. :(

Likewise in saskatoon, we don’t generally get much for “autumn” just a couple weeks between “warm” and “OMFG that’s COLD!”

    Seconding that.
Time for wool shirts, wool trousers, wool sweaters, wool scarfs, wool socks, waxed cotton windbreaker, gloves, and plenty of lights.

And being cold for the first mile until the ‘engine’ warms up. Then being nice and toasty. And people in cars looking at you like you’re nuts.

cause I have ‘already said that’
Surely there is something that can be done to allow us to repeat the comment ‘Like’ if we are not to be given a ‘like’ button?

One thing I like about fall… earlier darkness (for those who don’t know, my avatar is an actual photo of my bike at night)… I’m more visible at night than in daylight.

The ‘Post Comment’ button is in just the right place to be tapped when I am typing on my iPad. If it was farther from the comment edit box so my spare finger was less likely/impossible to accidentally type it would reduce errors.

I like the simplicity and the artwork of this strip. Reminds me of the early Moon comics. Great color.

Everything is beautiful in it’s own way.
Like the starry summer night, or a snow-covered winter’s day.
And everybody’s beautiful in their own way.
Under God’s heaven, the world’s gonna find the way.

This part of TX has 4 actual seasons: Hot, Melt your tennies hot, Still damn hot, and 2 weeks of Winter with actual ice and snow. You can’t just ignore the cold weather and hole up because it lasts too long and is not predictable as to when it actually takes place (that 2 weeks isn’t always contiguous, it might take as long as a month and a half to get our 2 weeks of ice and snow), so we have to have cold weather gear. I have been using the same cold weather gear for over a decade now, and I got mine used from a guy moving south (Central America) so there is no telling how old some of this stuff really is…

Who’s Yehuda Moon?

Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.

The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.
