A couple of years ago I was riding in a quiet suburban neighborhood while there was some sort of public gathering going on in the area. The police had blocked the road temporarily for some reason or other and traffic was backed up for blocks. I got off my bike, walked it on the sidewalk for about six blocks, then got back on the road. Traffic behind me was still not moving as I rode away. That’s what I do, too. Seems all the storys of misbehaving cyclists came from this typ of occasional bike users ;-) after a lot of tries, I refuse to share a bike ride with people who complain about bikers.
