Yehuda Moon works at the Kickstand Cyclery, lives on his bicycle and dreams of a day when everyone does likewise.
The comic strip is about two guys who run a bike shop and the challenges they face in the store and on the road. Yehuda‘s the utilitarian advocate; Joe‘s the go-fast pragmatist. Thistle Gin, a wrench and biking mom, rounds them out.

Nooooowwww! Move it Yehuda!
It’s raining, and possibly night time/evening too. Which is fine on any day on a bike, but I hope Yehuda doesn’t get distracted while on the road!
its possibly daytime otherwise thistle’d be home with her family
He could borrow Joe’s Rapid.
He could borrow Joe’s Rapid… and engage the hyperdrive unit on it (it’s on the third brifter…), thereby travelling faster than light and arriving at the council chamber in time to shoot Mrs State before she takes to the podium.
Hey – it’s a comic strip, so anything is possible!
@Karl – You got it. Do you remember when Joe rode so fast he went into the future?
I accidentally clicked on your hyperlink when intending to reply and followed the link to your Friday caption contest – the ‘sea of bikes’
I like the response that reads ‘We’ve just discovered the ancient Egyptians were much more advanced than we previously thought.’
Well, they did have anti-gravity to help them – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o15_DQUm94s&feature=related
… didn’t they? – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJ8n_HU0vP0&feature=related
So – who’s going to be first with an anti-gravity bike?

No, no, no, light speed is too slow. we’re gonna have to go right to ludicrous speed.
Do something about it Yehuda! You’re capable of thwarting Nanny State’s proposals by any means necessary!
What’s really needed is a mustering of forces. The local chain gang, the hipsters and all the other customers arriving in time to vote.
Liked – Seconded
Eh? No title for today’s strip?
Suggestions?
for whom the bell tolls
Personal liberties of the individual suppressed by timid, risk-averse people because of wholey unjustified fears – in America – Land of the FREE and Home of the BRAVE!! Utter, abject, craven betrayal of everything your Country stands for and everyone who has ever fought for or died for it’s values.
Hang your heads in shame.
That’s what he should get back in there and tell them.
Freedom/Liberty and Bravery/Courage are so passé! They are going the way of personal responsibility and self-reliance. Who still thinks that way? (Besides a few old fogies like me and my friends.) The really sad thing is that with all of the wonderful advances in technology and innovative designs, there is no place to freely use them. When I was a young adult, we used to say that if things got too bad here at home (that was in an earlier version of California) we’d just move to Australia. So much for that. Now we live in Arizona, which is still more free than the nanny-state to our left. If things “go south” we may have to relocate to Texas – if they’ll have us. I understand there are a few cyclists there.
Your abstractions are the most frequently used/misused out of context ploys by the vague minded right wing. You can’t have freedom without justice; bravery without compassion—concepts and values that the cliche slinging right lack. People who fear bicycles and cyclists are those who have bought in completely to the values (or lack of) of the car crazed masses and the all powerful oil companies. Self reliance? Do you mean those who best greedily manipulate the economic system and rape the planet? Texas should suit you well!
Its OK – the Socialist-Liberal Nanny State ™ will take care of you.
McQ — Like!
Scotty… Beam me to City Hall now!!!
I can’t captain. The dilithium crystals need recharging after our battle this morning….
Nooooooooooo…………… Darn you KAHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go, Nanny!!
What happened to the option to have follow-up comments sent in email? It was working yesterday.
The site is broken and we’ve turned off features in order to diagnose what the problem is… the hosting company keeps bringing the site down otherwise…
OK, understood.
That explains my page load issues the last 24 hours. I know updating the site, migrating comments, and dealing with all this technical BS is not all that fun, so just a note to say all your work is appreciated, as is the strip!
Now is the time for all good men…
Hey all. Check this out. A new place in Vancouver called The Kickstand.

Oh, I missed the site yesterday and NO, that was not a disturbance in the force.
Quickly! To the Yehuda-mobile! Prove bicycles aren’t just toys playing in the street, by using yours to take active part in your local government.
Depressing story line and sadly realistic. Check out the F-rated laws at this Ohio site:

hahaha….i’m really sorry for my laughter, but this is really ridiculous!
